Parts of today have felt like a fever dream.
What do you mean a new Neon Genesis Evangelion project written by Yoko Taro was announced today?
What do you mean Sonic The Hedgehog X Godzilla by IDW Comics (Best comics company btw) got announced on the SAME DAY?!
I have mixed feelings on the Evangelion project, Eva is one of the works most influential to me as a person and my development of media literacy and how I approach writing. I enjoy the manga quite a bit and even prefer it to the original anime at times but I cannot stand the Rebuilds. I would probably prefer if Yoko Taro just made his own mecha series, but I respect the hell out of him as a creative so I'm willing to see what he's cooking.
As for Sonic X Godzilla there's just nothing but the same childlike excitement I feel whenever IDW does another of the many many crossovers they love to do. (Seriously, a SECOND Sonic X DC Comics crossover was announced a few days back and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Godzilla is an ongoing crossover comic right now). I'm a little sad it's not one of the IDW Sonic comic writers taking over the book, and it's not even one of my favorite IDW Godzilla writers either, but I still did like the writing of the Godzilla one shot the announced writer did so I know it's in good hands, just not my preferred set. That being said Jack Lawrence on art is gonna rock.
