Kirby Lore

It's never not unhinged to remember that Kirby has by far the most expansive lore of any Nintendo franchise. It's kinda common knowledge at this point that at the end of most Kirby games you're gonna fight an Eldritch horror of some kind, but the fact that all of them actually have lore and that there's a lot of connective tissue between Kirby games at this point is genuinely insane.

What do you MEAN Star Allies confirms that Kirby is an Eldritch Deity, but one that is made up of friendship and love instead of anger and hatred? What do you MEAN you learn this because the final boss of that game is facing another of Kirby's kind that was indeed fueled by hatred because a leader of a group of people who got discarded and abandoned wanted to make his mark on the world and SACRIFICES HIS OWN LIFE to resurrect his Dar God? What do you MEAN the theme song for that boss has a sad rendition of Green Greens (The very first Kirby level ever) nuzzled into it to make sure this shit actually feels emotional?

But also of course, because it's Kirby you can literally defeat it with the power of friendship, chucking hearts that you use to befriend allies in the game as a way to make it see what Kirby sees. With it becoming seemingly less evil and more just recklessly playful the higher a difficulty you face it on.

Omg what??? I've never played Kirby but I have a friend who absolutely adored the game and this is definitely adding layers to what she was telling me about it!

And our breather arc right after this featured basically FF7's Jenova for a final boss…
